black friday

We braved the crowds and went out on Black Friday!! **eek** We got up at 4am to go to Joann Fabrics. We were there just shortly after 5am, but knew they didn't open until 6am. No line, but a couple people were waiting in their cars in the parking lot. It was cold and snowy. At 5:40am I decided I better get out of the warm, toasty car and go up to the door as there were several cars in the parking lot by that time. As soon as I stepped out I heard several other car doors slamming and footsteps right behind me as I made my move. Lucky for me I was *first* in line!! I got in, got what I wanted and got out.

thankful

I am thankful for my beautiful boy and wonderful husband, that we had a tasty Thanksgiving meal, pie, and that we only have a little snow on the ground.

On the menu:
tofurkey
stuffing
macaroni and cheese
mashed potatoes with mushroom gravy
green beans
crescent rolls
homemade bread (to make hot tofurkey sandwiches later)
3 layer pumpkin spice pie

making sure I knew I turned 30

Patrick and Milo made me a cake for my 30th birthday on the 25th. How sweet, the giant 30 and all.

chompers

Milo has been a bit more grumpy the last few days and we weren't sure why. Yesterday his first molar popped through. That bring his chompers count up to 9!!

We have made it through teething so far with sticking to alternative treatments. He wears an amber teething necklace purchased from Inspired by Finn, we give Hylands Teething Tablets, and a cold wash cloth to chew on.

handmade

Patrick made the truck for Milo's first birthday and the baby carriage for a very special little girl.

something to think about

How is it going to affect you? A few numbers to think about...

The consequences of the domestic auto industry collapsing would far exceed the $25 billion loan needed to bridge the current crisis. According to a recent study by the Center for Automotive Research:
• One in 10 American jobs depends on U.S. automakers
• Nearly 3 million jobs are at immediate risk
• U.S. personal income could be reduced by $150 billion
• The tax revenue lost over 3 years would be more than $156 billion

If you want to write your state reps you can go to GM Facts and Fiction and click on "I'm a Concerned American" and send an email.

a very special gift

This is a gift that Milo received from Delilah, Aimee, and Brian. I met Aimee (Delilah's mom) through my online due date club. We got to meet them all this summer when we were in DC. Aimee has been a great friend.

Milo LOVES the gift (and we do too). It is awesome!

first picture birthday morning

He was extra cuddly that morning. I have so much enjoyed seeing his face first thing every morning snuggled right up next to us as he wakes up.
